Update:

I sent the emails on Thursday at about 4:30pm.

Also, Mr. Randolph personally apologized to Melissa in school of Friday.

I'm calling this morning to set up the meeting. I'll fill you guys in when that's over, too.

I heard today that HT has been banned from all system computers. However, and this was once true, may still be, it is someone in the system's job to read HT and report anything...unusual???? So, if this duty still exists, THEY know what's said here.

Update:

Mr. McDowell stopped by our house this morning and spoke to my wife about Melissa. He offered a very sincere apology and wants us to inform him of the results of our meeting with Mr. Randolph.

For future reference:

We have a counselor that is now on a 12 month contract. She worked this past summer and will be working again this summer. I would advise any parent or student who has questions or concerns about their classes being correct for the next school year, to make the time over the summer to go in and let Mrs. P take a look. Even though you may not have received a schedule, she can pull it up on the computer and make sure everything is in order. She absolutely knows her stuff. Hopefully this will prevent anyone else from having to go through what Melissa has had to this year.

The meeting with Mr. Randolph went very well. He has restored some of my lost faith in school administration. I believe that he is a good man doing the best he can to do the right thing for HCHS's students.

He agreed that the guidance department needs a system of checks and balances for students' schedules and said that he would work on implementing it.

I want to take another chance to thank everyone here for all the calls, PM's and posts to support us. Your understanding and support have been invaluable to me.

I also want to clarify that I do not hold Ms. Vaughan responsible in any way. I've heard that others have assumed that she played a part in Melissa's disappointment and I do not believe that she did. HCHS is lucky to have her and many other fine teachers that make the school what it is. We have no animosity toward her and she remains one of Melissa's favorite teachers of all time.
