I always enjoyed that billboard when Phil and I took our walk across the bridge and back to the lot. Of course, we haven't done that in a while now.

I've never looked at it that closely, but I don't remember it looking unsightly.

I get nervous when the town tells me that once I change something I can never change it back and that makes me hesitant to change anything! Particularly if it is something that is producing income.

Think long and hard about this one, my friend. And negotiate even harder with Capital!

I made an effort to look at the billboard this morning when I went by. I noticed the new advertisement and did not think it was an eyesore. I will be honest with you, when I leave work (Dairy Dell) at 2 everyday, I just don't pay attention to it.

So in my opinion, if it makes you money and not bothering anything, I would leave it up. But I do understand the need to honor your Dad's thoughts of taking it down.

Capital put 2 new advertisements up (Crowell & Halifax Regional Hospital) and put a new wooden platform structure up within the last 2 weeks - of course, realize, they trespassed because they have NO lease for this billboard at this time. I actually have them for trespassing 3 times so I do believe the I definately have the upper hand and they now realize what they have done. I will see what happens today, but either way, they owe back money for an unleased sign and I think they will realize they need to pay it in lieu of being taking to court for trespassing. It has been one big, hot mess since the lease expired and Dad passed away. I am definately weighing all options and venues. I appreciate all of your thoughts on this matter.

DT, I believe my Pop would be pretty darn proud of my billboard quest. The city made it VERY Clear to me that I should beautify Riverdale by removing the billboard. Capital has put up fresh, new signs, new wooden structure and will be painting it to boot to enhance its appearance.

I am in negotiations now with Capital for a long term lease and lovely guaranteed income from it. I just don't want the city to win this one. They made it clear if it comes down, I can NEVER put another one up.

I checked out the billboard, it looks fines. I see nothing tacky about it.
