I drove by FBC this morning and saw several cop cars (Sobo and HC Sheriff) there. Anyone know what in the world was going on? I sure hope nothing has happened to a child. _________________ the arts are expendable.... what we really need is more bombs!!! What will be expendable next? Libraries? Public schools? |

Kim, thanks for the info. I understand that the investigation might be compromised if too much info is given out, but I can't help wanting to know what the heck was going down. That was a large turnout of force and it was alarming to see.
TO, I have actually been inside churches before and amazingly neither I nor the church burst into flames. _________________ the arts are expendable.... what we really need is more bombs!!! What will be expendable next? Libraries? Public schools? |

I am very concerned here. When I returned from dropping my daughter off at school, I saw Chief Binner and Sheriff Noblin searching the grounds (sidewalks, streets and private property) nearby my house. I was alarmed, that's alot of very high level police attention in one area. Before going home, I continued to drive to see what was going on in the neighborbood. I saw activity in the rear of First Baptist Church with -- I am pretty sure -- Mrs. Noblin gathered in a group of people. When I returned home, I called the Sheriff's Office to learn what was going on. I was told that a purse had been stolen, and Chief Binner and Sheriff Noblin were engaged in a search for that purse.
I need to know if the events at FBC and the searching of the area specifically and nearby, Fenton and Traver Avenue, are related. |

Just for the record, as I was writing I was not aware that Andy had offered this very similar concern. |

Can we please keep this topic serious, it is relevant to me as a concerned parent. |

I have learned from a very reliable source that Emily Noblin was the victim on a car break in.
I know she's the Sheriff's wife, but was that turnout really necessary? I would like to poll all the local victims of a car break in just to see what type of response they received when they reported the crime.

Hmmm...perhaps there was something out of the ordinary in her car.
I don't know. _________________ Blessed are they who can give without remembering and take without forgetting

For some reason, every parent that dropped their kids off kept asking me what I had done and why the police were after me But it was not me and at no point were there any children in danger. _________________ Music's playing up and down the block

Can't imagine why? _________________ “Among natural rights are these: first, a right to life; secondly, to liberty; thirdly to property; together with the right to support and defend them in the best manner they can.” ---> Samuel Adams |

As I dropped off my son at First Baptist this morning, I noticed all the cops there...being a concerned parent I asked the director what the deal was...she advised me that the Sheriff's wife's car had been broken into and everyone was there investigating. She also advised me that there was no present danger to the children.
I noticed that the the chief of police and the Sheriff, as well as numerous other officers and deputies, were walking/patrolling the neighborhood in search of the culprit(s) and or lost items.
As I was leaving I saw Emily looking in the dumpster and walking the parking lot, so I asked her if she was hurt or her car was damaged and she said no.
I would like to say thank goodness no damage was done to her car, and no one was harmed.
I hope they find the people who did this, this thievery has been going on in the neighborhood for some time. My wife had items stolen when our car was broken into back in the summer. The single officer who responded 45 minutes later and took the report was very nice, but we have heard nothing since...maybe these cases are connected? _________________ “Among natural rights are these: first, a right to life; secondly, to liberty; thirdly to property; together with the right to support and defend them in the best manner they can.” ---> Samuel Adams |
